Another good idea may be to reach out to friends and family for support, as well as taking the time to be social with others.<sup>8,11<\/sup><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f01068f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f01068f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Engaging in Physical Activity<sup>11<\/sup><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-219d819 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"219d819\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Although it may be difficult to start, becoming more physically active may help you manage depression. Regular physical activity is related to improved mental and physical well-being. Recent research indicates that physically fit people are less vulnerable to depression, and that regular exercise can greatly reduce symptoms of depression for many people.<\/p><p>Exercise affects mood in four ways:<sup>11<\/sup><\/p><ul><li>It can produce an immediate elevation in mood after exercising in some people (during depression this effect may not occur)<\/li><li>After a few weeks of regular exercise (three to four times a week, at least 20 minutes at a time), a general improvement in mood tends to begin<\/li><li>Improvements in physical fitness are associated with improved energy, which can enable you to do more<\/li><li>Exercise can be a good way of \u201cburning off\u201d stress when you are feeling tense<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-af6c308 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"af6c308\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">A Healthy Diet<sup>11<\/sup><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f75259f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f75259f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Depression is an illness which tends to disrupt appetite. This is why maintaining a balanced diet can prove difficult.
